Worship

Here at Freedom Church Worcester, we believe worship plays a crucial role in the life of a believer. Worship can mean different things to different people. Here, we want to lay out our beliefs for corporate worship. We wholeheartedly believe worship is a lifestyle thing, but below we are going to lay out our stance around Sunday worship.

We have broken our Freedom Church culture down into DNA that explains our pursuit of God and faith; two in particular are relevant when talking about our style of worship.

First and Best. We bring our absolute best to God, always! Particularly when singing His praises, this is our opportunity to lift our voices to heaven and thank Him for all he has done for us.

Wildfire. This is how we express ourselves as believers: it's through our raw, unapologetic and contagious passion for Jesus and how he has saved us that will cause ripples which those around us will catch and spread the joy of the Lord.

The story of Cain and Abel is a perfect illustration of how we view worship. Cain offered God "some of the fruits" as a sacrifice, whereas Abel offered God "fat portions from some of the firstborn", the firstborn always being considered a more special offering at that time. Abel willingly brought to God the best of everything he earned, but Cain kept the best for himself and gave God whatever was left over. We believe worship is our opportunity to offer our absolute best, no matter where we are or what we are doing.

As a result, our worship is expressive and passionate; this by no means excludes those who are contemplative or quiet but encourages all to offer their authentic best and honour and thank God.
