More Than a Task: Living Spirit-Filled

Building on the Right Foundation

At Freedom Church Worcester, we believe faith is more than Sunday routines or religious rituals. Jesus calls us to build our lives on Him — the solid rock (Matthew 7). When storms come, only a Spirit-filled foundation will stand.

What’s Fuelling Your Faith?

So many of us end up fuelled by the wrong things:

  • Others: chasing approval but never feeling enough.

  • Self: doing what feels good but finding it limited.

  • The Spirit: daily strength, direction, and joy that only God provides.

When we are Spirit-filled, we don’t just survive — we flourish.

Serving Is More Than a Task

In Mark 6, Jesus invited His weary disciples to rest. But when crowds followed, He had compassion and fed over 5,000 with just loaves and fish. Not only were the people satisfied, but twelve baskets were left over — one for each disciple.

Serving isn’t about obligation. It’s about obedience, and in obedience, God multiplies what we bring. Our giving and our serving form something in us and overflow to bless others.

Sowing and Reaping with Joy

Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 9: “Whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” Every act of service, generosity, or encouragement is a seed. God promises to bring a harvest — not just for others, but for us too.

A Challenge for Today

What’s fuelling your life? Obligation? Self? Or the Spirit? God invites us to live beyond the tick-box and into a Spirit-filled life.

At Freedom Church Worcester, we know following Jesus is about more than Sundays. It’s about your place, your people, your purpose. And there’s always room for you here.
