🦁 Lion Heart: Rediscovering the Power and Identity of Jesus

1. Seeing Jesus for Who He Really Is

When most people picture Jesus, they imagine the gentle shepherd — kind eyes, soft voice, holding a lamb. But the Bible paints a fuller picture. In Revelation 5:5, we meet Jesus as “the Lion of the tribe of Judah.”

He is not only the Lamb who was slain — He is the Lion who roars in victory.Too often, we stop at the cross, forgetting the empty tomb. Jesus didn’t just die for our salvation; He rose again to bring us power, authority, and courage.

If your perception of Jesus ends with the lamb, you’ll miss the lion who leads you in triumph.

2. Hearing the Right Roar

In life, there are many voices competing for our attention. Some sound powerful, but not all are from God.Scripture warns us in 1 Peter 5:8:

“Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”

The enemy roars to intimidate and deceive — telling you you’re not enough, you can’t do it, you’ll never change. But the roar of the true Lion — Jesus — defends, protects, and empowers.

One roar brings fear; the other brings faith.

Who are you listening to today?

3. Don’t Tame the Lion

Many believers live with a domesticated view of God — as if He’s a harmless house cat, quiet and predictable. But our God is not safe; He’s good.

When we lower our expectations of Him, we shrink our courage, too.We start living like caged lions — comfortable but contained, fed but purposeless.

Faith was never meant to stay in the zoo.Jesus calls us to live wild, bold, lion-hearted lives — to step out, to love fiercely, to roar against injustice and darkness.

4. Becoming Lionhearted

You were never meant to hide. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11).That means you carry the roar of heaven in your chest.

Being lionhearted doesn’t mean you never feel fear — it means you choose courage in the middle of it.

It means fighting for others, standing for truth, and believing that God’s power is stronger than any opposition.

At Freedom Church Worcester, we believe that lion-hearted faith changes cities. It starts with a community that knows who their Lion is — and dares to follow His roar into the world.

🕊️ Reflection:

  • Have I tamed God in my life?

  • Am I listening to the wrong roar?

  • Where is He calling me to be bold this week?

Let the Lion of Judah awaken your courage again.
